It Looked Like Spilt Milk

Another favorite weather book!!  

This one needs a few props, though. 

 An old fashioned overhead projector and cut out shapes, a block so the projector can reach the ceiling, lay back and pretend 

it is a warm summer day .......

What a fun way to read a book!!

It Is Thunder Cake Baking Weather!

This time every year I get out one of my favorite books, Thunder Cake, by Patricia Paolacco.   In the story the Grandma helps her granddaughter overcome her fear of thunder by making Thunder Cake with her.  

We talked about the thunder last night and how we felt about it.  After we read the book we make, and ate, Thunder Cake!!!  mmmmmmm!!  The kids tell me that they will never be afraid of thunder again!

Thunder cake

Mix the ingredients:

One box Just Add Water Angel Food Cake Mix

One box Chocolate Cake Mix 

Spray a coffee cup with Pam

Add

 3 tablespoons mix

2 tablespoon water

Stir

Microwave for 1 minute

Pop the cake out of the cup

top with chocolate frosting 

garnish with a strawberry (just like in the book)

ipad fun!!

We are having so much fun 

taking turns using our ipad. 

Unfortunately we only have one ipad for all of our 46 Kinder Kids  and K Teachers to share.  In the pictures below the kiddos are matching letters to the sound the letter makes.   The app is called 'little matchups ABC Alphabet'.  I will be posting other site that are educational and appropriate as I discover them.

Stuffed Animal Day

Wednesday, March 27 is 

Stuffed Animal Day!!  

Your child may bring a stuffed animal to school.  

Please make sure it is small enough to fit in your child's back pack and that it does not make noise.
