It may not be snowing outside, but our classroom is a winter wonderland! We have the beginings of a great igloo, keep drinking that milk, and a 'snow' discovery table. We are also getting ready for our gingerbread theme next week so there may be gingerbread boy or girl running around here, too! As much fun as it is in here, we are still wishing or the real stuff outside!

Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast
The Wompanoags, turkeys and Pilgrims gathered for a Thanksgiving Feast today. We told the story of the first Thanksgiving Feast and then had a feast of our own. Everyone brought a little something to share, we put all we had together in a big bowl and we had enough to feed everyone with lots left over! After the feast we sang Thanksgiving songs and wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving before heading back to our settlements.

I Love This Idea
This is why I LOVE Pinterest!
Wrap up 24 Christmas/Holiday books that you already own, if you need more, the December book order will have lots of great and cheap ones, in Holiday paper. Put them in a basket, ours will be by the fire place.
Each night, starting December 1, a family member picks one of the wrapped books to open and read as a family.
I love that this is a low cost/easy to do tradition and that we will read my many Holiday books together to celebrate the season as a family.
We Are Reading!
We have started READING in Kindergarten!!
Yeah!!!
We now know 2 "Star Words" and we are using them, along with picture cards,
to make sentences and read.
These word will be highlighted in our Monday Reading Homework each week and will be the star of many class made books.
We will review the word 'I' and 'see' next week then move onto our next work, 'like'.
Please practice reading and writing these words at home.
Happy Reading!
